In 2005 my then 3 year old daughter had a frightening fall from a piece of playground equipment. She was taken to the emergency room of a local hospital where doctors thought she may have suffered a ruptured spleen and a dislocated collar bone. That incident was the catalyst for my interest in playground safety. Since that time my interest has become a full blown mission to do whatever I can to keep kids safe on playgrounds.
