Bergfeld Recreation has been family owned and operated since 1961 when my Dad, Chuck Bergfeld, opened our home office on Manchester Rd. Throughout the 60's and 70's we solidified ourselves as St. Louis' leading playground experts, concentrating on commercial playground equipment for parks and schools. In the 1980's, when wooden playset's started to be introduced to homeowners, we became the first company to offer these high quality, residential systems to families in the St. Louis area. When I was in high school and college my summer job was installing wooden playsets. I have seen the evolution of our industry and the products get better every year! In 2003 we opened our St. Peters location to service the growing St. Charles and surrounding counties. Gary Peterson has been with us since 1990 and now manages the St. Peters location. Since our beginning in 1961 we have continually broadened the products and installation services we offer to include commercial and residential playground equipment, safety surfacing, basketball goals, trampolines, site furnishings, all types of sports equipment, day care equipment, fencing of all types, shelters and much more!
