What's The Best Way To Include Information On Your Business Card?

Have you noticed pretty much everyone seems to have a business card nowadays? This could range from the businesses themselves, directors, management, employees and even independent contractors. This is the ideal way to get the word out about a certain business and will let others know what product and services are on offer. Probably the most important aspect of a business card is the contact details and the name of the person who should be contacted in order to complete a business transaction. Therefore, if you are looking to design a business card for yourself, or your business as a whole, there is standard information you would expect to see, but you can also add various other information, which may make your business card stand out from the crowd.

Name

The first thing you will want to add to a business card is the name of the business and this is typically in a larger or perhaps different font to any other writing on the card. If you happen to be an independent contractor and you always work under your own name, then do exactly the same thing, but using your own name as the business name. If you are working for a business you should then add your own name and also your title or role within the company. This will let everyone know who you are and what you do. A title for an independent contractor can take many forms, such as managing director, owner, chief executive officer, etc.

Contact Details

If you have a physical address this should be included on your business card. You may also have another location, such as a store where you want potential customers to visit then this should also be included on the card. However, if you are someone who works from home and you don’t particularly want clients or prospective customers turning up at your home the leave this information out. You should always include a telephone number and any other applicable contact details, such as a fax number, website address and email address. These details should immediately be visible to anyone who has your card, so they can contact you without the hassle of trying to track down some details.

Card Design

Most business cards will contain a company logo, which makes it far easier for others to identify who you are, especially if you work for a large or famous corporation. The company’s logo is also the ideal way to make your business card stand out from the crowd and many people choose to use different colours, textures and designs. When it comes to designing your card, the information that should stand out more than any other is the business name and your contact details, as this is the most important information to someone who has obtained your business card. You will also want to organise the information that goes on your business card in an orderly fashion and it definitely shouldn’t look cluttered. It’s probably best not to stick to plain black and white, but don’t go overboard with colours, as something as simple as having a coloured logo will suffice.
