Power of Twitter to Build a Dental Practice

Social media outlets have grown tremendously over the past few years. A lot of dental practices use social media to communicate with their customers, and to gain new customers. Twitter is one of the most popular social media platforms as it allows a quick way for customers and businesses to communicate. Twitter messages are limited to 140 characters, so a lot of people naturally feel that not a lot can be said. This is untrue; a lot of pertinent messages can be sent between a customer and a business. Any dental practice, regardless of its online presence, should use Twitter to communicate with their customers.

For example, dental marketing is very difficult for the average dental office. It is difficult to gain new customers as dental offices are not exactly exciting places for people to visit. Now, with dental social media, a dentist can communicate with his or her customers with ease. Oftentimes, dental office is notorious for being hard to reach. Most offices have very strict hours and are not open weekends. This is where social media helps; communication will certainly speed up with Twitter.

With a Twitter account, a patient can simply tweet a message to their dental office, and wait for a response. Twitter is a great venue to ask simple questions that anyone in the office has the ability to answer. Examples include but not limited to, hours, insurance excepted, prices, and even directions to the business. It would also work as a great way to set or even confirm appointments, especially since Twitter allows the sending of private messages.

The dental office also has a lot of marketing possibilities with Twitter. A dental office can send out a tweet in regards to specials, or if the office will be closed for the day, or even to introduce new dentists. A great marketing idea for a dentist would be to tweet out specials, for example, 50 percent off teeth cleaning. Both clients and businesses have a great opportunity using Twitter.

In dental marketing, like any other marketing, it is important to not annoy customers. It would be best to keep the posting to a minimum, lest the business may anger their customers. Dental social media is here to stay, and any serious dental office needs to have a Twitter account. Current customers appreciate the ability to communicate with Twitter. Not only that, you will be able to gain new customers with social media outlets.
